Food

  • Full product line in convenience stores featuring organic/vegan/vegetarian offerings
  • Certified organic fair trade coffees served at our Starbucks, Seattle's Best and Jazzman's locations
  • Local produce and food accounts for 40 percent of total food served in our dining halls
 

Energy

  • We recycle the cooking oil used in our dining locations to be used for the creation of biodiesel fuel
  • Napkins made from recycled materials to help reduce greenhouse gases and save trees
  • Water conservation
    • Implemented a tray-less initiative in our dining halls to address the Georgia drought and support overall water conservation
    • Saves 3,000 gallons of water per day
  • Use steam cleaning in our operations in place of water pressure cleaning
  • Use post consumer waste (PCW) materials as carryout containers
 

Community

  • Food donations to the Atlanta Community Food Bank and local shelters
  • Supports the development and maintenance of a sustainable campus community
    • Active partner in a Sustainabilty Committee with Georgia Tech Facilities and Students Organizing for Sustainability (SOS)
  • Waste education efforts within the Georgia Tech campus community
    • Posters and table tents advertising the resources conserved in GT Dining operations
